Unlike other boutique offerings in Hobart, we specialise in providing a range of varied classes that cover all forms of physical movement – from cardiovascular to strength to toning and stretching – all in a beautiful, clean and high-end space. We care about you and we care about creating a community of engaged, motivated and healthy people.
Barre workouts are based around the use of a ballet Barre and incorporate elements of Pilates and dance to tighten, tone and lengthen muscles throughout the entire body. We incorporate the use of small weights, Pilates balls and bodyweight exercises to give you a total body workout. With a focus on posture and strengthening our stabilizer muscles, we enhance skeletal strength, muscular strength and endurance, all combined with non-impact cardiovascular exercises.
Boutique Boxing is a dedicated boxing class designed for women – it strips away the grime and intimidation of boxing and brings it into a class structure that enables you to feel supported, welcomed and empowered at class. The boxing classes utilise what’s called an ‘aqua bag’, which is a specially designed bag filled with water to reduce impact on joints.
At each class, you’re set up correctly with technique, wrapping and gloves. From here, you get your own bag each and get to completely release any and all stress and frustration, and get one of the best (and FUN) cardio workouts you can!
Class bookings can be completed online here. For your first barre class, please turn up at least 10 minutes prior to class – due to the nature of boxing, we cannot accept you into class if you are not on time.
You will need a drink bottle and small towel for sweat. Wear comfortable exercise clothes that allow full movement of all joints. Shoes are not required for our barre yoga or core classes and socks may be worn in the classes, however ‘grippy’ socks are more appropriate.

Yes! All classes at BurnTheory have been designed to suit all age groups and fitness levels.
Our Barre, Yoga and Core classes are both non-impact and designed around postural strengthening elements. In addition, our instructors are technique-focused to ensure you are undertaking the movements correctly, effectively and safely.
Our Boxing class has been designed to suit all fitness levels (and ages) – unlike CrossFit or other high intensity competitive-based classes, Boxing with an aqua bag, and the design of our classes, allows you to work at your own pace and on your own bag. Our instructors have also had specific training in boxing technique and keep a keen eye on any new person in class to support you through your first few classes.
We know how important cardiovascular fitness is to all ages, and in particular how effective interval training is for weight loss and healthy hearts, so we have designed the class to be accessible and suitable for all ages!
Although all BurnTheory classes are designed to be accessible to all fitness levels and age groups, if you have an injury, this may limit your ability to undertake the class, particularly for boxing classes. Reach out and get in contact prior to class and our instructors will happily work with you to find the best variations and modifications to accommodate your needs, or refer you to an alternative class option.
If you have any minor niggles, injuries or sore areas, please notify the instructor prior to class. Your instructor will ask for these prior to class; however, it is a good idea to have a quick chat with the instructor prior to the class starting.
Please contact us at info@burntheory.com or on 0450 055 354. We are always here to answer your questions and welcome you to the community!
I have my core strength back! I don’t like gyms so find the space inviting and where I’m worked hard – Amazing!

I’m much more happier, more confident and feel much better about myself.

Never have I been in better shape! I struggle to workout on my own and get the most out of it, but I found BurnTheory has increased my fitness and keeps me motivated.

I first noticed BurnTheory by signing on for a 4 week challenge. It’d been a long time between workouts and I’m not spring chicken (!) so I rocked up on day 1 with trepidation. Four weeks later I was a convert… My muscle strength went through the roof and I just felt like I stood taller! For the first time in years I can see a whole body change so I’ll not be stopping BT Barre and Sweat classes any time soon.
