FAQ’s

Do I have to create a profile just for one visit?

Yes. You are required to create a BurnTheory profile which includes our liability waiver. This only takes a minute and also ensures that you can reserve a place in the class. To do this simply visit our Book a Class page, and select a class to book in to. From there, you’ll be guided through the booking site, where you can follow the prompts to register as a new client.

What is the best class to start with?

It really depends on what takes you fancy! For boxing, we’d suggest one of our conditioning classes to kick you off, and for Barre, really any classes are a great start. As we meet you beforehand, the instructor will be aware that it’s your first class, and can accommodate all ages, stages, fitness levels, energy levels etc. All of our classes are lots of fun and we’re sure you’ll enjoy yourself and get a great workout!

Do I need to bring anything?

For Barre you just need yourself and a water bottle. We supply all equipment, including the Mat. For Boxing, you’ll require shoes, drink bottle and sweat towel. At your first boxing class, we set you up with wraps ($10) and gloves. After which you’ll just need to bring these along to your boxing classes.

What should I wear?

Whatever you’re comfortable in and can move in! For barre classes, we don’t require shoes so either socks or barefoot is fine. For boxing, we require closed toe shoes and it’s a good idea to wear a supportive sports bra!

I’m a beginner. Is that okay?

Yup! You don’t need any previous experience or fitness level to come to our classes. Our instructors guide you through each class and provide various options to meet you where you’re at.

Can men join BurnTheory classes?

Sorry gals, no partners here! We’ve created a space that’s female-focused and supportive, so we only have real-world women in our classes.

How long are your classes?

All classes are 45 minutes long.

Can I bring my children?

Unfortunately we can’t welcome children to our studios. However, if they are over 14 years of age, they are welcome to join in class as a client.

I’m pregnant. Can I join class?

Barre and Boxing classes are some of the best classes to build strength, pelvic floor conditioning and fitness for the mammoth effort of bringing a human into the world. However we always require you to check with your doctor before commencing any new workout programs. If you are a current and ongoing member, still check with your doctor. We can always modify around movements to support you through your pregnancy and post-pregnancy.

Can I pay in studio or online?

We recommend you purchase your access online as you can then secure a spot in your class. Turning up to the studio to purchase runs the risk that the class is full. You can go to our BOOK A CLASS page to grab a pass.

Can I use my class pass at all studios?

You can use your pass to book in for classes at both our Moonah and Hobart studios! There is a 24 hour delay in the BurnTheory app before this feature becomes active where you will only be able to book classes at your “home” studio. If you sign up and can’t book in straight away to the class you would like to attend – get in touch and we can manually book you in…after that you should be able to book at both locations using the BurnTheory app!

Do I need to book?

Yes – this is definitely recommend to secure your spot on the mat or at the boxing bag. If the class is waitlisted, please put yourself on the waiting list as spaces often come up..

Do you have a mobile app?

You bet!! Manage your class bookings easily with our BurnTheory app, available from the App Store. Search for BurnTheory and look for our logo.
